Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is a digital imaging application that revolves around the photographer's workflow. Lightroom gives photographers a single integrated workspace in which to sort through and organize images, make nondestructive corrections and enhancements, ready images for sharing in print or online, and manage an image library.
First released in 2007 and available for both Windows and Mac OS, Photoshop Lightroom has become popular with professional and amateur photographers using both platforms. Recent versions have incorporated more sophisticated image-optimization capabilities and high-demand features like working with video clips, geotagging, and creating photo books. The current version, Photoshop Lightroom 4, is available as a standalone product or through Adobe Creative Cloud membership.
