Space Planning with Blocks in AutoCAD

In this course you will create a number of furniture blocks and then group typical arrangements of furniture so that you can lay them out most efficiently in an office space. In the process you will gain experience using AutoCAD’s editing tools and exercise creative freedom by deciding how to fit the puzzle pieces together. The contents of this course include:

Making Furniture Blocks
In this lesson you will gain experience creating blocks, varying the order of inputting the block name, selecting objects, and picking the base point. In addition we will contrast the method of deleting source objects after defining a block and later inserting the block with the more efficient approach of converting the source objects directly to a block.

Creating Groups Where It Makes Sense
In this lesson you will gain practical experience arranging furniture blocks in relation to each other, creating typical layouts depending on how the furniture is to be used. Then you will group the arrangements, making it easier to move them as units.

Arranging Furniture in Enclosed Rooms
You will gain experience working with groups and modifying objects in this video as you lay out a number of furniture groups into the rooms of an office.

Arranging Furniture in Open Office Spaces
By laying out furniture groups in an open office plan in this lesson, you will have some creative freedom to decide how the space should be planned. In addition you will gain experience using a variety of editing commands.
