Welcome to Modeling for Product Visualization in modo
In this workshop you’ll learn how to create detailed, realistic product visualization models with modo. The contents of this course include:
Introduction
In this introductory chapter you will get a basic overview of the techniques and theories that will be covered in this course and learn how to set up and use the exercise files that are included.
Polygonal Modeling
In this chapter, we will look at a number of tools and techniques used in modeling with polygons. You’ll learn about creating selections, shading, smoothing, and more.
Modeling with SubDs and PSubs
In this chapter we’ll focus on modeling with the two styles of subdivision surfaces, PSubs and SubDs. You will see the benefits and drawbacks of both and learn techniques for working with them.
Sculpting Concepts and Retopology
In this chapter we'll explore retopology, sculpting, and smoothing tools in the process of modeling an intricate helmet.
Setting the Scene
In this chapter we’ll look at techniques for creating a scene to display a finished model. You will learn how to model environments and props, create and adjust lighting, apply a recoil effect, and more.
Particles
In this closing chapter, you will learn techniques for placing particles and blobs in your scenes.
The lessons are wrapped in a feature-rich interface that lets you jump to any topic and bookmark individual sections for later review. Full-Screen mode provides a hi-def, immersive experience, and Watch-and-Work mode shrinks the video into a small window so you can play the videos alongside your application. Also included are exercise files that give you an easy way to try out the techniques you learn.
