Getting Started Project
In this chapter we’ll walk through the steps in a simple project by importing media, editing footage, and adding polish with transitions and picture adjustments.
Using the Organizer
The Premiere Elements Organizer offers lots of features to help you organize, preview, and access your clips. You’ll learn how to use them in this chapter, as well as how to send your footage to the Editor or share them directly from the Organizer.
Starting Projects
In this chapter you’ll learn how to start a project in Premiere Elements 11, including how to use presets to simplify the process. You’ll also learn how to add media from your various devices and then use the playback feature to view what you have imported.
Editing Video: Basic
The basic editing tools in Premiere Elements 11 are also some of the most vital. In this chapter, you’ll learn how to trim clips both manually and using the Smart Trim function, as well as how to split clips. You'll also see how to add basic audio to a project.
Editing Video: Advanced
For those who are really passionate about film editing, this chapter will share many useful techniques. We’ll look at Premiere Elements 11’s Expert mode, which provides many options that are not otherwise available. You’ll also see how to change clip properties, add graphics, and edit various video effects.
Working with Audio
Getting the audio right is one of the most essential aspects of creating a project in Premiere Elements. In this chapter, you will learn how to access the stock music library to add tracks to footage, as well as how to mix existing audio.
Putting It All Together
In this chapter, you'll learn how to use all of the tools at your disposal in Premiere Elements 11 to put your project together. We'll look at various ways of evaluating footage and how to edit the clip sequence of a project, enhance a project, and slow down or speed up clip speed. Or, if you prefer to forego most of the editing process, we will look at how to use the Instant Movie feature.
Publishing and Sharing
The last step in the process of creating a Premiere Elements project is to publish and share it. In this chapter, you will learn how to create a virtual main menu for your project, export it to DVD, upload it to a social website, or simply output it to your computer.
The lessons are wrapped in a feature-rich interface that lets you jump to any topic and bookmark individual sections for later review. Full-Screen mode provides a hi-def, immersive experience, and Watch-and-Work mode shrinks the video into a small window so you can play the videos alongside your application. Also included are exercise files that give you an easy way to try out the techniques you learn.
