Maybe you've just begun working in Flash Builder and are interested in a faster, more efficient way to locate errors in your code. Or perhaps you're looking for a different method of developing that could reduce the need to debug as often as you seem to be doing now. Either way, this workshop will help you reduce development time, work with more confidence, and save time when it comes to maintaining your application and adding new features.
Presented by experienced developer and instructor Kevin Ruse, Flash Builder 4 Unit Testing and Debugging begins with an overview of the debugging process and what you need to debug your files. You'll learn the ins and outs of the Flash Builder Debugger as well as techniques for locating the root cause of code errors. You'll also be introduced to unit testing, an approach based on the idea of eliminating errors before they can occur. You'll see how it's done in Flash Builder 4 using the new FlexUnit 4 framework, and then begin creating unit tests and see how you can fit them into your development cycle. Finally, you'll learn how to install, configure, and use the FlexPMD plug-in to improve the quality of your code.
These lessons are all wrapped in a feature-rich interface that lets you jump to any topic and bookmark individual sections for later review. Full-Screen mode provides a hi-def, immersive experience and Watch-and-Work mode shrinks the video into a small window so that you can play the lessons alongside Flash Builder.
